Birmingham Community Incubator

This is the second cohort of the Birmingham Community Incubator in collaboration with the Salvation Army and Community Resource Development from AL Extension. Twelve local predominantly women-owned start-up businesses will be chosen to participate in the 6-week business boot camp.

We will teach these entrepreneurs how to effectively use the "Business Model Canvas" to organize their business. How to properly formalize their business, understand license and permit requirements, sign up for and maintain their "My Alabama Tax - MAT" accounts, develop banking and lending relationships and understand business insurance requirements through our "Filing for Success" series.

Throughout the program, they will also have access to local partners that specialize in lending, technology, and business coaching. The program will culminate with each business preparing a working budget, marketing strategy, and business plan in hopes of being awarded one of the multiple $1000 grants and additional business support services provided by BCI and our partners.
